During a recent press conference to publicize the upcoming AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2024, Tony Khan, the President of AEW, discussed the contemporary collaboration with STARDOM for the current year’s pay-per-view affair. He broadcasted his plans to maintain the alliance with the all-female Japanese wrestling promotion in the foreseeable future.
In his own words, Khan declared, “Most certainly, we have an abundance of joint projects with Stardom and I’m positively thrilled about collaborating on such a close level with the promotion this year. Stardom is under the same parent company as New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Bushiroad. I had envisaged working with Stardom for a considerable period. The current managerial team has been a joy to collaborate with. The corresponding teamwork has been highly beneficial for the wrestlers in AEW and Stardom, and also it has rewarded the fans of both or either promotions as we have been collaborating closely, orchestrating memorable matches, reciprocating talent interchange. My target is to welcome Stardom talent routinely to AEW. At the present, Stardom’s Mina Shirakawa could potentially be the AEW Women’s World Champion. She’s an excellent contender and represents not only Stardom but also AEW remarkably. I’d adore having Mina as the title holder. Plus having Toni Storm as the champion is another reason why I’m eager for the match. I yearn to persist working closely with Stardom. One of their athletes may be the World Champion here, which can be a major achievement. We can anticipate seeing Stardom’s wrestlers in AEW. Top performers and also fresh talents will be engaged. I am keen to keep Stardom involved with Ring of Honor as well. Aside from ushering in Stardom performers into AEW, you could witness numerous AEW wrestlers voyaging to Stardom, and we’re actively working towards it. Wrestlers are busy securing their visas and it is a progress we are passionate about.”
The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event is scheduled to occur on June 30 at the UBS Arena in the Long Island hamlet of Elmont, New York.
