Tony Khan, the notable figure in wrestling, has dismissed the idea of including injury time in Darby Allin’s contract. This concept has been brought up due to Allin’s high-risk wrestling style, which often leads to injuries. Allin, a former TNT Champion, has frequently been injured during his tenure in AEW, even experiencing a broken foot earlier this year that hindered his attempt to climb Mt. Everest.
Khan offered his insight on this issue during his visit to Levack and Goz’s show. When questioned about possibly adding additional time to Allin’s contract to account for his recovery periods, he responded,
“No, no I haven’t. That’s one of the things that makes Darby so unique and special. He is always at the forefront and always at the cutting edge. He wants to try new things. It’s that risk-taking, that energy, these things make him so drawn by wrestling enthusiasts. I like to exploit that.”
However, Khan has been reported to have included injury time in the contract of Rey Fenix, another wrestling star.
Allin has been prominently featured in AEW’s strategy to counter the hostilities of the Death Rider against the company. His confrontations and interactions in the ring and off continue to draw viewers and fans alike.
