Tony Khan was willing to offer Jade Cargill more than she asked for to retain her services with All Elite Wrestling.
Cargill left AEW last month and has since signed with WWE, with the Stamford promotion acknowledging Cargill on the most recent SmackDown.
Speaking during the AEW WrestleDream media scrum, Khan spoke about Cargill’s exit and his efforts to keep her with the company. He said,
“I knew Jade’s contract was running up, and I was very interested in having her, and I made an offer, a very big offer. I thought it was fair, and then she asked for a bigger offer and I went up again. I kinda thought that was gonna do it, and it didn’t which I was surprised, because to be honest, I came up with a number that was higher than her original ask. So, I don’t know what I’d have to do at that point, so I was surprised.”
Jade Cargill has said that while it has been decided which brand she will be competing on, she won’t be revealing which show she’ll wrestle for yet.
