Tony Khan, the president of AEW, has been tight-lipped about the possible signing of Ricochet to All Elite Wrestling but expresses his admiration for the One and Only.
On July 1, Ricochet became a free agent following the end of his WWE contract. Since then, rumours have been rife about his potential move to AEW, where he formerly held the title of Speed Champion.
In a recent chat with ComicBook.com, Khan didn’t directly address the speculations about Ricochet jumping ship to AEW. However, he did speak very favourably of the former WWE figurehead, stating:
“I’m a massive enthusiast of Ricochet. I believe he’s an exceptional and highly skilled wrestler. He has had the opportunity to compete against some of the biggest names in AEW already. His extensive experience in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was a champion and a prominent star, can’t be overlooked.
We share a solid collaboration in that area and I greatly value the history of New Japan Pro Wrestling, an area where Ricochet made significant contribution. During a period when many of our top talents were grappling there, he was a pivotal part. I hold great respect and admiration for Ricochet and regard him as one of the top athletes and one of the most riveting stars in the entire wrestling world.”
Reports have emerged that Ricochet was seen backstage at a recent AEW show, leading many to speculate that his official debut might be just around the corner.
