AEW President Tony Khan recently made an appearance on the “Battleground” podcast where he shared his thoughts on the contributions the Costco Guys made in bringing added visibility to AEW during their appearance on the AEW Full Gear 2024 Zero Hour pre-show.
Here are some key points from the podcast:
Regarding AEW’s partnership with the Costco Guys, Khan said, “We undoubtedly pay attention to the wrestling fans and constantly look for ways to broaden our fan-base, while doing it in a manner that respects wrestling. Just recently, we struck a successful collaboration with Big Boom AJ, Big Justice and The Rizzler.”
Discussing Big Boom AJ’s showdown with QT Marshall at Full Gear, Khan mentioned, “As Big Boom AJ returned to the pro wrestling scene, he had an exemplary match against QT [Marshall] at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view show. The match played a significant role in the live event. It boosted ticket sales and contributed to the overall success of the pay-per-view as well as the live event.”
There is an exclusive interview with Tony Khan available where he discusses AEW’s Continental Classic, homegrown stars, and how he handles criticism.
