Tony Khan has been a big supporter of Sting, who joined All Elite Wrestling a few years ago after retiring from wrestling.

Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view event will feature & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks in a Texas Tornado Match that will see the babyfaces defend the AEW Tag Team Titles. It will also be Sting’s retirement match.

During a recent interview with Fanatics View’s Mike Peticca, the AEW president talked about Sting.

“I love having Sting come in and brainstorm with us. Also, working with Sting, he’s one of the most selfless people and I find that I have to push him sometimes and have to remind him, ‘You’re Sting, it’s all about you!’ So, I do feel that this run of Sting being undefeated and what he’s done here in AEW is very special,” Tony said. “I’m sad that it’s coming to an end. I’m very sad that Sting will be retiring, but it’s remarkable that Sting is out there over 60 years old.

“Sting is doing more crazy things in his 60s than he’s ever done before,” continued Tony. “Sting in AEW is this extreme version of Sting. He has gone from being ‘The Franchise,’ ‘The Icon,’ to a Hardcore icon, and some of my favorite Sting matches of his entire career, and I say this just as a wrestling fan, not only is the owner of AEW, I honestly mean this from the bottom of my heart, I think some of the best Sting matches he’s ever had have been in AEW and that’s one of the greatest careers of all time. When you see Sting today, he’s so happy, the locker room has so much respect for him, and we’re so happy to be able to give him this great send-off.”

Tony Khan, the president of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), recently expressed his admiration and support for wrestling legend Sting. Khan has been a big advocate for Sting since he joined AEW a few years ago after retiring from wrestling. However, it seems that Sting’s time in the ring is coming to an end, as his retirement match is set to take place at AEW Revolution pay-per-view event this Sunday.

In a recent interview with Fanatics View’s Mike Peticca, Tony Khan discussed his experience working with Sting and the impact he has had on AEW. Khan spoke highly of Sting’s selflessness and described him as one of the most giving individuals he has ever worked with. He even mentioned that he often has to remind Sting that he is a wrestling icon and that the focus should be on him.

Khan expressed his sadness about Sting’s retirement, but also highlighted the remarkable nature of his current run in AEW. At over 60 years old, Sting is still performing at an incredibly high level and pushing himself to new limits. Khan referred to Sting’s time in AEW as an “extreme version” of the wrestler, where he has transformed from “The Franchise” and “The Icon” to a hardcore icon.

According to Khan, some of the best matches of Sting’s entire career have taken place in AEW. As a wrestling fan himself, Khan genuinely believes that Sting’s performances in AEW have been some of the greatest in his illustrious career. He emphasized that Sting’s happiness and the respect he receives from the locker room are evident, and AEW is thrilled to give him a memorable send-off.

Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution will see him team up with Darby Allin to defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks in a Texas Tornado Match. This highly anticipated event is expected to be a fitting end to Sting’s wrestling career, showcasing his incredible talent and leaving a lasting impression on fans.

In conclusion, Tony Khan’s admiration for Sting and his contributions to AEW are evident. Sting’s retirement match at AEW Revolution marks the end of an era for the wrestling legend, but his impact on the industry and his memorable performances in AEW will be cherished by fans for years to come.
