During the press conference following AEW All Out 2024, Tony Khan shared some insightful revelations about the ongoing negotiations for AEW’s TV rights and the latest copyright request for AEW Shockwave. Some notable moments from the press conference are below:

Regarding the AEW TV rights discussions, he said: “The negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery are ongoing and have been quite intense. We’ve been in talks throughout the summer about a fairly complex package. It’s truly impressive how much AEW has evolved and grown over the years. As we approach AEW Dynamite’s fifth anniversary on October 2nd, we are astounded by our expansion from the original two-hour weekly broadcasts to a whopping five hours now. And we initiated it all five years ago with All Out”.

He went on to exude optimism about AEW’s future with TNT and TBS: “Suffice to say that I firmly believe AEW will sustain its place on TNT and TBS for a considerable duration. Even though I still haven’t formalized anything, I’m quite hopeful. Without delving into particulars but keeping in mind the thrill of suspense about future events, there are quite a few exhilarating developments in the pipeline. I am genuinely thankful for the backing of Warner Bros. Discovery, TNT, and TBS.”

When quizzed about AEW’s probability of striking a media rights deal with WBD, he held the network in high regard and optimistically stated: “Around 90%.”

Regarding the copyright filing for AEW Shockwave, he said: “It’s fair to presume that AEW is poised to send shockwaves throughout pro-wrestling, making headlines with our spectacular performance at AEW All Out – a trailblazing success for us, both at the NOW Arena and on PPV. It’s successful enough to build eagerness for Wednesday’s Dynamite on TBS, and we are committed to keeping that shockwave going in the world of pro wrestling.”
