All Elite Wrestling may not be the popular promotion fans enjoy today if Tony Khan hadn’t gone to a particular party in Beverly Hills.
Since launching in 2019, AEW has won over fans worldwide and airs in the United States on TBS and TNT.
Speaking on “The Maggie & Perloff Show,” Khan said that it was at the party that a friend in TBS/TNT made him a humble offer. He said,
“This thing started when I was at a party in Beverly Hills, and I was visiting a friend who happened to be the President of TBS and TNT at the time. Essentially, he gave me a start-up deal and it didn’t pay great, but he gave us a chance to get our foot in the door and start what had become the true challenger brand in professional wrestling worldwide.”
On this week’s Dynamite, Khan will make an announcement that relates to TNT, which is believed to be confirmation of the rumored Saturday weekly wrestling show ‘Collision.’
AEW is also preparing for its biggest event ever, AEW All In, with over 60,000 tickets being sold for the August 27, event in London’s Wembley Stadium.
