Tony D’Angelo secured his first-ever singles title in WWE by winning the NXT Heritage Cup in the recent NXT episode. Shawn Michaels, the veteran wrestling superstar, took to Twitter to extend his congratulations to The Don on his landmark victory. Michaels wrote:
“[A] tremendous win for @TonyDangeloWWE and an incredible night for The Family! Congratulations to the new #HeritageCup Champion… another leap forward for a bonafide Superstar. #WWENXT”
D’Angelo expressed his gratitude in response, “Italian heritage cup champion. THE DON! I appreciate your kind words, Shawn!”
Meanwhile, Mike Rome has made a comeback to WWE NXT as the ring announcer. He has taken over from Alicia Taylor who has been transferred to SmackDown. Rome, who initially joined WWE in 2016 and moved to the main roster in 2018, officially resumed his NXT responsibilities in the latest episode.
