Toni Storm made a surprise appearance through a video message during today’s STARDOM event held in Osaka, Japan. The ex-AEW Women’s World Champion disclosed her intent to square off against Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Championship at the imminent STARDOM Golden Fight 2024 event, set to take place in Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday, October 5th. During a recent interaction with Stephanie Chase, AEW wrestler Willow Nightingale reflected on the lineage of the TBS Championship, including a discussion about the first ever TBS Champion, Jade Cargill, her counterpart at the AEW Battle of the Belts IV.

Below are some key extracts from the conversation:

Discussing Jade Cargill and the TBS Title legacy, Nightingale noted: “Jade is a formidable figure. She was the inaugural TBS champion. Glancing at the title’s lineage, I envision dominant women who’ve carved their identities through it – like her venturing into professional wrestling and then losing to Kris. Regardless of my personal sentiment about Kris, she made a splendid TBS champion. She performed brilliantly every week, justifying her competence. I believe she represented women’s division astoundingly.”

Commenting on Julia Hart’s tenure as TBS Champion, she added: “Julia Hart is the next in line who is firmly establishing herself and is relatively new to wrestling, with just about two to three years of experience and she’s 29 years old. She’s leading this phenomenal division filled with tremendously talented women. Following her was Willow Nightingale and now Mercedes. The lineage of the title is incredibly potent and Jade being the first and facing her repeatedly was an advantageous position for me when I was endeavouring to gain visibility in AEW.”
