Will WWE’s new World Heavyweight Championship help or hinder the company’s roster?

This week, Triple H announced that the title is being brought back and the new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Night of Champions on May 27.

The Game explained that with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns competing less, the company is in need of a full-time World Champion.

Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Tommy Dreamer echoed the sentiments of some that the new title seems like a consolation prize for Superstars who can’t beat Reigns. He said,

“The belt I like. I thought it looked cool. [I] hate, hate, hate the reason why. I felt it ‘Hey, no one else could beat him [Roman Reigns], so we’re going like this … Let’s just castrate our entire roster.’

“I pray to god it’s not Cody. You’re literally castrating Cody as ever being this credible person.”

WWE Night of Champions will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27, and will also mark Reigns’ 1,000th day since capturing the Universal Championship in August 2020.
