Tommy Dreamer Weighs The Pros And Cons Of The WWE ID Program

Renowned wrestler Tommy Dreamer has expressed mixed feelings about the WWE ID program. This tactical initiative by the WWE is designed to scout and recruit talent from the independent wrestling circuit.

The program ensures that promising recruits, referred to as prospects, are given access to the exclusive WWE Performance Center and monetary support from the company.

During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Dreamer pondered the potential benefits of the WWE ID initiative. He stated,

“I like the school concept of it because they’re teaching you how to be television performers… I also think it gives independent wrestlers more hope. [Kylie Rae] has wrestled for…TNA, AEW, NWA, she’s been out there, she’s phenomenal, and again gives hope for people who have been doing this for quite some time.”

However, Dreamer also expressed some reservations. He voiced concerns that the WWE ID program could potentially destabilize the indie wrestling industry, making it difficult for wrestlers to lose to non-WWE ID talent.

Another worry highlighted by Dreamer was the risk of talent being extracted from the indie circuit prematurely, before having an opportunity to fully hone their abilities.
