On the “Gabby AF” podcast, veteran wrestler Tommy Dreamer recently took a deep dive into WWE’s era of pandemic times where no live audience was present.
Dreamer was full of praises for “The Hurt Business,” a group consisting of Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Cedric Alexander. According to Dreamer, these wrestlers unfailingly remained at the forefront of the WWE during the pandemic era, deserving far more recognition than they received. Dreamer also tipped his hat to Andrade and Zelina Vega for the vital role they played during this period.
In the podcast, Dreamer discussed how the quartet of The Hurt Business were indeed the real MVPs during these challenging times, saying, “I greatly admire Bobby [Lashley], Shelton [Benjamin], and MVP. On both personal and professional levels, I’m buddies with these guys. They share a genuine bond of friendship, which is admirable. I truly believe that during their tenure in WWE, which coincided with a turbulent period marked by COVID, The Hurt Business were the real heroes.”
Dreamer further opined that these wrestlers didn’t receive the acknowledgment they deserved: “They don’t receive as much appreciation as they should, much like Zelina Vega and Andrade. These individuals were shouldering the responsibility of pro wrestling during a particularly grim period in the world’s history. I think they were not utilised to the fullest potential, which was partly due to the lack of fans present.”
A YouTube video of Dreamer speaking about Bobby Lashley filling the ECW Arena is embedded in the podcast, providing additional insights into his thoughts.
