As per our earlier coverage here on eWn, Bryan Danielson’s tenure under his AEW contract is set to reach its expiration date on August 1, just ahead of his much-anticipated World Title face-off against Swerve Strickland at the AEW All In: London 2204 event.
Speaking on “Busted Open Radio” podcast, veteran wrestler Tommy Dreamer discussed about the possibility of AEW All In 2024 marking Danielson’s final wrestling match and more such issues.
The salient points from the podcast are as given below:
On Bryan Danielson’s potentially last bout at AEW All In 2024: “My take is, if this is destined to be his curtain call match, I would be thrilled to see it unfold at Wembley Stadium. However, it’s noteworthy that there is this unique scenario where someone out of contract is contending for your world title. Plus, Swerve has this knack of introducing a shadow of doubt with his words, just the way only Swerve can. Looking ahead, AEW WrestleDream is the major event in their hometown. Maybe the title could change hands that night and a rematch scheduled in Washington for another grand event. It opens up several exciting narrative possibilities.”
Reflecting on a potential rematch taking place at WrestleDream: “Come October 12, imagine WrestleDream featuring a villainous Bryan Danielson, with Jeff Jarrett lending aid from his corner, taking on the hero Swerve Strickland, who’s determined to retrieve the belt for team AEW. With the uncertainty of Danielson’s contract, there’s a chance he could jump ship any time, unless AEW just keeps on shelling out to make sure he stays. Now that sounds like a story.”
