In the most recent episode of “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Tommy Dreamer articulated his view that MJF has the potential to be the “saviour” of AEW in its confrontation with Jon Moxley’s Blackpool Combat Club.
The Blackpool Combat Club, under Moxley’s leadership, is presently threatening the AEW lineup. Dreamer is optimistic that MJF is the one who could stand up to the Combat Club.
Highlighted excerpts from the podcast are compiled below:
In relation to MJF’s possible narrative incorporation: “In my opinion, the hero who can deliver us is none other than MJF. One moment that really resonated with me involved MJF laying down the rule that ‘you all must win a match’ following which he commented, ‘How MJF of me.’ This moment made me laugh, and I realised, this guy is brilliant. He’s my anti-hero, he’s my sarcastic hero. He is ‘the’ individual who used to be ‘the guy.’ He still possesses the potential to reclaim that title because his ultimate goal always remains the world title; a goal that gives him a sense of fulfilment and completeness.”
Discussing MJF’s escalating conflict with the Undisputed Kingdom: “While I appreciate all the wrestlers, in the context of this storyline…how much further can you push it before you have to yield?”
