Several WWE talents have participated in Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport events recently, and Barnett believes this involvement improves their wrestling skills.
During his guesting at the “Two-Man Power Trip” podcast, Barnett addressed the question whether Bloodsport is a “convenient engagement” for WWE. His response was,
“I wouldn’t categorize it as convenient. My belief is, through years of conversations with individuals in WWE, not only training Shayna [Baszler], who happens to be one of my students, but also coaching numerous wrestlers who were trained by me or sought additional training from me while in WWE, and consistently proving myself as reliable with their talents, is what really counts. A responsibility I do not underestimate.”
He added, “I understand there’s no intended insult in saying ‘convenient.’ However, it’s perhaps because I value it highly that I’m permitted to engage these athletes. I believe they realize being part of Bloodsport enhances them. Regardless of whether their performance in NXT or WWE or anywhere appears nothing like what they did in Bloodsport, which is fine, that doesn’t really matter. I’m confident they emerge a better wrestler from being in that ring, and I feel WWE shares that sentiment.”

On Sami Zayn’s role in the narrative: “They’ve suggested that Sami Zayn might team up with Solo. I absolutely adore that Roman Reigns slightly hinted he didn’t need Sami Zayn.”
Regarding the possible fifth member of the teams: “I’m excited by how they’ve set out options, and guys, there’s tension, correct?… Might it be Cody? Because if Cody allies with them, that would annoy The Rock, resulting in him joining Solo and his team.”
