On a recent episode of the renowned “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Tommy Dreamer, an illustrious name from the pages of ECW history, suggested that Joe Hendry deserves a spot in the imminent #1 Contender’s Battle Royal. This eminent event is slated for the June 18th WWE NXT TV show installment.

On the potential for Hendry to make an appearance in the battle royal: “Should Joe Hendry make his entrance in this battle royal, imagine it. If they soundtrack his entrance with his song, which topped the charts in the UK, outdoing Taylor Swift even, it would create quite the stir. If he waltzes in there, serenaded by his song, with everyone present imitating his style, stepping into the ring, performing his characteristic routine, and then, instantly thereafter…he’s brushed aside, flung over the top rope, eliminated outright, it would undoubtedly enrage fans.”
On planning a face-off between Hendry and the villainous character who ousted him: “Resultantly, you establish a villain. Eventually, this individual would need to confront Joe Hendry. And that’s when the questioning begins – ‘Could we tease a Joe Hendry victory on our program?’”
Victory in the battle royal would allow the winner to take on Trick Williams, vying for the WWE NXT World Championship title at NXT Heatwave 2024.
