In a recent episode of the podcast “Busted Open Radio,” Tommy Dreamer, the veteran ECW wrestler, shared his thoughts on the current docuseries about “Mr. McMahon” on Netflix.
Dreamer expressed his disinterest in watching the series. He feels the docuseries fails to present a thorough and accurate representation of Vince McMahon, the erstwhile WWE Chairman’s life and legacy.
In Dreamer’s words, “I’m against documentaries. They often follow a predetermined narrative. I probably won’t even view it because it tends to make me upset when I encounter things like that.”
Dreamer also revealed that after conversing with several wrestling professionals who had collaborated with McMahon over the years, none of them intended to watch the series either.
He further commented, “It is what it is, and the audience can form their own interpretation.”
In the past, Dreamer faced temporary suspension from the “Busted Open Radio” and TNA Wrestling due to his statements in defense of Ric Flair amidst the “Plane Ride From Hell” episode of the Dark Side of the Ring docuseries in 2021, which entailed allegations of sexual misconduct against Flair.
According to Dreamer, Flair was “not going to impose any kind of sexual conduct on anyone by force.” He added, “This is an attempt to portray someone as a sexual predator when it’s not. It’s a mockery. It’s a ruse. In today’s climate, it’s entirely unacceptable. Even my hairstyle is objectionable at present. My double ponytail is probably offending someone.”
The “Mr. McMahon” docuseries, consisting of six hour-long episodes, delves into various allegations of sexual misconduct brought against McMahon by multiple women over time.
