The recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast had notable wrestling personalities, Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer discussing All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) latest booking choice, Dustin Rhodes.
In an exciting development, Rhodes joined forces with Marshall and Ross Von Erich to win the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships. Below are some of the main talking points from the podcast discussion:
Speaking on the show, Bully Ray said, “Just the other night, Rhodes became a champion. While his appearances on the screen are irregular, I believe that with a company under my management, he would not be my first choice for the world heavyweight champion. However, I would certainly involve him in significant rivalries and storylines that could elevate the younger talent in the long run, instead of benefiting them only momentarily. In my view, the current biggest name in professional wrestling is Cody Rhodes.”
Tommy Dreamer, meanwhile, had this to say, “I gather that Dustin may have had some injuries. It’s not ideal to have older wrestlers appearing on TV regularly due to potential criticism. Taking a broader perspective, AEW demonstrates effective utilization of veteran wrestlers. Regrettably, I find discrimination based on age in WWE. In my opinion, Dustin’s age might have kept him off the screen had he been in WWE.”
