Next week’s edition of WWE NXT in Chicago, IL is set to see the debut of The Motor City Machine Guns, as previously reported on eWn. Tommaso Ciampa recently shared his eagerness to work with the pair on the “Battleground” podcast.

Quoted on the podcast, Ciampa said, “Everyone seems to naturally pair us up due to our styles or sizes. They’ve been influencing tag team wrestling for two decades now. I’ve drawn much from them in terms of concepts and ideas in my own career, yet I’ve never competed against either of them, not in singles or tag. Experiencing that on a WWE stage for the first time would indeed be cool.”

Ciampa added that Johnny maintains a positive relationship with Shelley and they both have substantial respect for The Motor City Machine Guns. He is hopeful for an active tag division featuring multiple top acts, as it boosts competition and forces performers to push their limits. Ciampa believes the audience will receive the duo incredibly well and is likely more excited than them about the potential match-up.

In other news, Carmelo Hayes suggests that a tenure with the WWE United States Championship is on his horizon. In a recent appearance on “The Ringer’s Masked Man Show,” Hayes shared his aspirations to secure the United States title after losing a #1 contenders match to Andrade.

“It’s unquestionably my destiny. When you consider the guys who’ve held the title before, it seems like the ideal first title for someone–especially someone like me who takes pride in his work,” Hayes quoted. “I aim to improve in different areas and believe that winning this title is the right way to learn.”

Hayes further stated that being on the receiving end of challenges makes one work harder, a reason why he relished his stint as a champion in NXT.
