– ADVERTISMENT –

Impact Wrestling will revert back to the “TNA Wrestling” moniker at the Hard to Kill 2024 pay-per-view event.

Speaking on a recent edition of the “Battleground Podcast,” Sabin confirmed that the six-sided ring will not be coming back. He said,

“I don’t think there was ever serious discussion about it, not any that I was involved in anyway. There might have been at that level, but I think the consensus was that it’s a little more dangerous ring, and that could have been just the one that TNA used back in the day, because the bump was really, really hard, but apparently, it had to be that way because of how the six-sided ring is constructed.”

He continued, “So I don’t think there’s any serious discussion. I think it’s cool. I think it’s different, but at the same time, I think the health and well-being of the performers has to come first before something like that.”

Impact Wrestling, formerly known as TNA Wrestling, has announced that it will be reverting back to its original moniker at the Hard to Kill 2024 pay-per-view event. However, one iconic feature of the original TNA Wrestling will not be making a comeback – the infamous six-sided ring.

Chris Sabin, a professional wrestler who has competed in both TNA Wrestling and Impact Wrestling, recently addressed the topic on the “Battleground Podcast.” He confirmed that there were no serious discussions about bringing back the six-sided ring. Sabin explained that while the ring was unique and different, it was also considered more dangerous for the performers.

Sabin stated, “I think the consensus was that it’s a little more dangerous ring, and that could have been just the one that TNA used back in the day because the bump was really, really hard, but apparently, it had to be that way because of how the six-sided ring is constructed.” He emphasized that the health and well-being of the wrestlers should always come first.

The six-sided ring was a distinctive feature of TNA Wrestling during its early years. It provided a different dynamic for matches and added an element of excitement for fans. However, the unique design also posed challenges for the wrestlers. The angles and corners of the ring made it difficult to execute certain moves and increased the risk of injury.

Despite its absence, Impact Wrestling continues to deliver thrilling matches and captivating storylines. The promotion has evolved over the years and has established its own identity separate from its TNA Wrestling roots. While some fans may have nostalgia for the six-sided ring, it is clear that Impact Wrestling is focused on prioritizing the safety and well-being of its performers.

As wrestling fans eagerly anticipate the Hard to Kill 2024 pay-per-view event and the return of the TNA Wrestling name, they can rest assured that Impact Wrestling will continue to provide top-notch entertainment. Whether it’s in a traditional four-sided ring or a six-sided ring, the promotion remains committed to delivering high-quality wrestling action.
