The indie pro wrestling star will be making a transition to mixed martial arts.
As reported by Squared Circle Sirens, Thunder Rosa (whose real name is Melissa Cervantes) has been signed by Combate Americas. Best known as Kobra Moon on Lucha Underground and Serpentine on WOW: Women of Wrestling, Rosa is an experienced Brazilian jiu-jitsu player and is training to make her MMA debut on Combate’s Nov. 8 card in San Antonio.
“Well guys, it is official now,” remarked Rosa on Twitter. “Soon I will be stepping in [la jaula] for [Combate Americas] I always dreamed to accomplish big things! This is something I had been working hard and I’m beyond excited about it!”
This isn’t the first pro wrestler to sign with Combate Americas. The promotion has previously had Sexy Star compete for them, and Alberto El Patron is set to fight there and has a management role with the company.
