Although Thunder Rosa is not included in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament this year, one especially notable participant is Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo is set to battle Hikaru Shida in the tournament’s inaugural round, a fact that has caught Rosa’s attention.
In an episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Rosa, also known as La Mera Mera, expressed her views on her adversary’s entrance into the contest before her. Sharing her feelings, she stated,
“To increase the proverbial salt in the wound, I tuned into Dynamite this past Wednesday and found the roster for the Owen Hart tournament. Noticeably absent, was my name. I thought, ‘Alright, that’s fine.’ But then I noticed her unmistakable name … Not only did she secure a victory against me on Saturday, but she also usurped my spot.”
She then continued to say, “However, that’s acceptable … I don’t require a competition to prove my worthiness for the Wembley. In one way or another, I’m going to make my mark at Wembley. I don’t need the assistance of a tournament to secure another shot at the Women’s World Title, because I have faith in my ability to achieve it without the crutch of a tournament. I’m beyond that.”
