Details for the central event of WrestleMania 41 have been revealed, presenting a Triple Threat Match featuring megastars CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The unveiling occurred during WWE SmackDown’s recent episode where the contract for their intended confrontation was sealed by the trio.
The London crowd voiced their approval as Reigns was the first to enter and endorse the contract. Next came Rollins, who prodded at their shared past with Reigns whilst laying the blame at his doorstep for CM Punk’s return. Punk strutted in last, casually scanning the contract while quipping about a shortfall of bubble gum.
Paul Heyman was on board to comfort Punk, assuring that his main event position was endorsed by the contract. Rollins voiced his consternation, questioning Punk’s merit for this recognition. Punk reciprocated the reactions from fans, while Reigns insisted that he should be the one thanked by Punk. Punk’s reply was cryptic in nature, remarking: “That’s not the favor that I’m owed.”
This event will serve as Reigns’ tenth WrestleMania main event highlight, along with being his sixth consecutive appearance.
Also planned for the two-night main event of WrestleMania 41 is a headlining match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena.
