As previously covered on eWn, legal proceedings involving Janel Grant and WWE, along with Vince McMahon, have been temporarily paused. This decision comes at the behest of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).
Intriguingly, the U.S. government has decided to become involved in Grant’s litigation against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, positioning itself as an ‘interested party.’
In recent developments, paperwork filed by the U.S. government has confirmed their involvement in the case. Notably, Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Mortazavi of the Southern District of New York is now represented as U.S. counsel for this case.
Adding to this, it’s been learned that Mortazavi submitted four documents under seal to the court this past Thursday.
The public record of the filing reads as follows:
“Attention to the Court Clerk and all record parties:
Please include me, Sarah Mortazavi, Assistant United States Attorney, as counsel for the United States of America, alongside the existing attorneys on record.
Cordially submitted,
Damian Williams
United States Attorney /s/ Sarah Mortazavi
Assistant United States Attorney
Office of the United States Attorney
Southern District of New York
