On a recent edition of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker stated that Bray Wyatt should’ve been the one to end his undefeated streak at WrestleMania.

The Undertaker defeated Wyatt at WrestleMania 31, a year after Brock Lesnar ended the streak at WrestleMania 30.

‘Taker said, If it wasn’t Roman [Reigns], I think the most logical person to break it would have been Bray Wyatt. I think probably of the three (Lesnar, Reigns, and Wyatt), it would have meant more to his career than even Roman’s. For Roman, it would have been very special but for Bray, when there were so many comparisons between the two characters and the darkness and the different things, for him to be able to have broke it would have been such a feather in his cap and something that could have extended the character of The Undertaker in a different capacity.”

On August 24, 2023, at the age of 36, Wyatt tragically passed away of a heart attack while asleep at his home in Clermont, Florida

Nic Nemeth (formerly Dolph Ziggler) teamed with LayCool against John Morrison, Trish Stratus, and Snooki at WrestleMania 27, and he reflected on the match during a recent appearance on Hornswoggle’s “Going Postl” podcast.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On being happy to be in the match: “I’ve been in matches where they go, ‘You’re gonna lose 28 of your 29 minutes and we’re gonna cut you off the show.’ This was a, ‘We’re fighting to be on the show, we’re in a thing with a celebrity, no matter what happens they got to send this out there.’”

On the bout being cut down: “They said, ‘You have 20 minutes for a match’ and then it was cut down to 15, then it was cut down to 10, then they said, ‘Can we get a bell and you guys go to the finish?’ And Nitro and I did that, and the women had their match that they planned.”

Bray Wyatt: The Missed Opportunity to End The Undertaker’s Streak

In the world of professional wrestling, few accomplishments are as revered and iconic as The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania. For over two decades, The Deadman dominated the grandest stage of them all, amassing an impressive 21-0 record. However, in 2014, the streak came to a shocking end at the hands of Brock Lesnar. While many fans and critics debated who should have been the one to break the streak, The Undertaker himself recently revealed that he believes Bray Wyatt should have been the chosen one.

During a recent episode of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker expressed his opinion that Bray Wyatt would have been the most logical choice to end his undefeated streak. The two faced off at WrestleMania 31, a year after Lesnar’s historic victory. The Undertaker acknowledged that while Roman Reigns was ultimately chosen to face him at WrestleMania 33 and potentially retire him, Wyatt would have been the more fitting opponent.

The Undertaker explained, “If it wasn’t Roman [Reigns], I think the most logical person to break it would have been Bray Wyatt. I think probably of the three (Lesnar, Reigns, and Wyatt), it would have meant more to his career than even Roman’s. For Bray, when there were so many comparisons between the two characters and the darkness and the different things, for him to be able to have broken it would have been such a feather in his cap and something that could have extended the character of The Undertaker in a different capacity.”

The Undertaker’s words carry weight, considering his deep understanding of the wrestling industry and his unparalleled legacy. Many fans agree with his sentiment, believing that Wyatt’s eerie persona and storytelling abilities would have made for a compelling clash with The Deadman.

Unfortunately, fate had a different plan for Bray Wyatt. On August 24, 2023, at the age of 36, Wyatt tragically passed away from a heart attack while asleep at his home in Clermont, Florida. The wrestling world mourned the loss of a unique talent who had left an indelible mark on the industry.

Reflecting on Wyatt’s career, it’s evident that he possessed the potential to become one of the all-time greats. His character work, combined with his in-ring skills, captivated audiences and showcased his versatility as a performer. Wyatt’s ability to blur the lines between reality and fiction made him a standout figure in WWE.

In addition to The Undertaker’s endorsement, Wyatt’s potential to end the streak was also acknowledged by other wrestling veterans. The likes of Mick Foley and Jim Ross have spoken highly of Wyatt’s abilities and believed that he could have been the one to break The Undertaker’s undefeated streak.

While we can only speculate on what could have been, it’s clear that Bray Wyatt’s untimely passing robbed the wrestling world of witnessing a potentially historic moment. However, his legacy lives on through his memorable matches and captivating character work.

In conclusion, Bray Wyatt’s potential to end The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania was a missed opportunity in the world of professional wrestling. The Undertaker himself acknowledged that Wyatt would have been the most fitting opponent to break the streak, given their similarities and the potential for an extended storyline. Unfortunately, fate had other plans, and Wyatt’s tragic passing cut short what could have been a defining moment in his career. Nevertheless, his impact on the industry will not be forgotten, and fans will continue to remember him as one of the most unique and captivating performers in wrestling history.
