The renowned wrestler, The Undertaker, was recently a guest on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast. During the program, he chatted about various topics, including his one-on-one discourses with the late wrestling star, Bray Wyatt, dealing with the tricks played on him by Paul Bearer, and much more.
Here are some key takeaways from his conversation:
When asked about his exchanges with Bray Wyatt, The Undertaker shared, “Bray and I were quite alike, in the fact that we were introducing to the wrestling world something different from what everyone else was doing. Similar to my early days in the industry. He frequently sought advice on how to handle this, how to pitch ideas effectively and to whom. He was an eager learner and was always thirsty for more knowledge. It’s such a sorrowful loss. Bray had immense potential and had much more to give, not just to the wrestling industry, but also as an individual. He was an exceptionally warm spirit.”
Reflecting on the times he was victim to Paul Bearer’s pranks, primarily due to his distaste for cucumbers, he said, “Brian and Paul were the only two who dared to play pranks on me… I saw Paul enjoying a salad so naturally assumed he inevitably placed a cucumber somewhere on my plate… After enjoying my meal and about to gulp down my iced tea, I realized Paul had slipped a cucumber at the bottom of my glass, tactically flat so it remained unseen.”
He also shared an incident when he turned the tables on Bearer during a long drive, “I noticed an Exxon station a few blocks away, as he was panically directing me to it, I suddenly turned in the opposite direction. Needless to say, he wasn’t as chipper after that ordeal… Upon reaching the gas station he realized he had, regrettably, wet himself. As he steamed with rage at me, I simply responded, ‘Paul, I don’t like cucumbers.'”
