The Undertaker Reflects on His Confrontation with the WWE Roster During the 2008 Australia Tour

On a recent edition of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker recalled calling out the roster for what he saw as a lack of effort during a 2008 tour of Australia. He said,

“I remember asking Fit Finlay, who was our road agent, producer at the time, I said, ‘Fit, you mind if I talk to everybody?’ I was gonna do it either way, but I’d give him the respect of how I was gonna do it. He goes, ‘No, absolutely,’ so we got everybody together in a room. The next 30 to 40 minutes, I proceeded to cuss and lambast that whole roster for their lack of effort and pride in themselves. Oh, man, it was bad.”

“They knew I was right! They knew. They knew exactly… Everybody was exhausted. You just don’t have those kind of [sold out] nights. That kinda night for me was like, wow, I’ve been here and this place nearly be empty. Yeah, I’m tired, I’m really tired, but, man, I’m gonna give it everything I got because I want this place to look like this the next time we come back.”

The 2008 tour saw the Superstars of SmackDown and ECW travel to Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide & Brisbane for house shows.

The Phenom recently returned to Australia to host his one-man show that saw a special appearance by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Triple H.

In a recent episode of his podcast, “Six Feet Under,” legendary professional wrestler The Undertaker shared a story about calling out the WWE roster for their lack of effort during a 2008 tour of Australia. The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark Calaway, expressed his disappointment with the Superstars’ lack of pride and effort during the tour.

During the podcast, The Undertaker mentioned that he had asked Fit Finlay, who was the road agent and producer at the time, for permission to address the entire roster. Finlay gave him the green light, and The Undertaker gathered everyone in a room to express his frustrations. He recalled spending the next 30 to 40 minutes passionately criticizing and lambasting the roster for their lackluster performance.

The Undertaker’s main concern was that the Superstars did not seem to understand the importance of giving their all, even when they were tired or performing in front of a smaller crowd. He believed that their lack of effort was detrimental to the overall success of the tour and reflected poorly on the company as a whole.

The 2008 tour took the Superstars of SmackDown and ECW to various cities in Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, and Brisbane. The Undertaker’s disappointment stemmed from witnessing sold-out arenas turn into nearly empty venues during the tour. He wanted to ensure that the next time they returned to Australia, the arenas would be packed with enthusiastic fans.

Recently, The Undertaker made a return to Australia to host his one-man show. The event was a huge success and featured a special appearance by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Triple H.
