WWE Hall of Famer and renowned wrestling figure, The Undertaker, has lauded Mark Henry’s fake retirement announcement as a historic game-changer in the world of wrestling promos.
The notorious episode of June 17, 2023 edition of RAW revealed Henry ‘proclaiming’ his retirement only to suddenly confront John Cena, instigating a rivalry with the then-WWE Champion.
On an episode of his “Six Feet Under” broadcast, The Undertaker showered commendations on Mark Henry’s strategic move and the World Strongest Man’s stellar performance. He stated,
“That particular in-ring promo was one of the most outstanding ones ever. It was authentic but it was misleading.”
On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown from Albany, New York, AJ Styles also pulled a similar retirement ploy to launch an assault on Cody Rhodes, later checking in with Henry post his segment.
Recently, Henry culminated his tenure with All Elite Wrestling. In the forthcoming event WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland, Styles and Rhodes are set to compete in an I Quit match.
