GUNTHER maintained the WWE Intercontinental Championship for an unprecedented 666 days before the title was snagged by Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40.
In a recent episode of his “Six Feet Under” podcast, The Undertaker applauded Triple H for elevating the status of championships, GUNTHER’s record-setting reign transforming the Intercontinental Title into a much sought-after accolade.
The Undertaker commented, “I believe Paul will orchestrate more narratives similar to the impressive streak GUNTHER had with the IC belt. None of those belts truly had significance until GUNTHER’s possession, infusing new relevance into it once more.”
After his defeat at WrestleMania 40, GUNTHER earned the title of King of The Ring.
