The Street Profits Win WWE Tag Team Championships On WWE SmackDown

The WWE SmackDown episode of March 14, 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, didn’t disappoint with its surprises that included Axiom fighting against Gunther, a suggested Aleister Black teaser, and a short film of Rey Fenix. However, the most significant highlight was the power shift — The Street Profits nabbed the WWE Tag Team Championship by overcoming #DIY.

Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, collectively known as The Street Profits, had been vying tirelessly to grab the top position in the SmackDown tag team division since they lost their sweet taste of victory as Raw tag team champions on October 12, 2020.

Just a few months back, they were poised to compete against The Motor City Machine Guns. Unfortunately, they were assaulted backstage and their spot was hijacked by #DIY, who subsequently bagged the titles. As it turned out, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY were responsible for the sabotage. Ever since, the division has witnessed escalating drama featuring these three, Pretty Deadly, and Los Garza—all wrestling fiercely for the championship. The saga climaxed at WWE Royal Rumble 2025 during the #DIY vs Motor City Machine Guns match where The Street Profits stepped in, expressing their discontentment at being sidelined.

Seeking to bring order to chaos, SmackDown General Nick Aldis provided The Street Profits a golden opportunity to contend for the tag title this week’s SmackDown. Dawkins and Ford didn’t let the opportunity slip. Capitalizing on a tactical error where Gargano mistakenly superkicked Ciampa, The Street Profits turned the tide. Ford seized the moment, stunned the vulnerable Gargano with a Frog Splash, and clinched the win.

We are aware that Pretty Deadly is next in line for the title’s challenge following their victory in the No. 1 contenders’ Triple Threat match but the date for this face-off is yet to be announced by WWE.
