At the recent MLW Summer Of The Beasts event, CONTRA Unit’s Minoru Suzuki & Ikuro Kwon seized the title of MLW Tag Team Champions. They achieved victory when they successfully trounced Okumura and Satoshi Kojima in a riveting match on the live-streamed YouTube show held last Thursday.
During the intense encounter, Kwon deployed mist as a weapon, striking Okumura’s face, a move followed by Suzuki’s skillful Gotch Piledriver execution to nail the deciding pinfall.
After the thrilling bout, Kojima faced an attack from Krule and Janai Kai, with Krule showing off the MLW World Championship title.
This win represents the first time that Suzuki and Kwon have held the title, thus ending CozyMax’s reign of 111 days. CozyMax initially captured the vacant titles during the Azteca Lucha event held on May 11.
An MLW tweet confirmed the victory: “NEW WORLD TAG CHAMPS! HAIL CONTRA!#MLW @betonline_ag WATCH NOW: …”.
The MLW Opera Cup semifinal matchups were also determined at the Summer Of The Beasts event. TJP, Bad Dude Tito, KENTA, and Mistico proved victorious in the August 29th show, defeating Tom Lawlor, Alex Kane, Akira, and Atlantis Jr. in the quarterfinals, hence advancing to the semifinals.

The semifinals and finals are all set to take place at the upcoming MLW Fightland event.
