The first season in the relaunch of the XFL under the leadership of The Rock and Dany Garcia wrapped up last month following the championship game that saw the Arlington Renegades be crowned as the champions.

As previously reported, the league lost an estimated $60 million this year after they paid $23.5 million for it. The league projects $100 million in revenue next year, including a payment of $20 million per season by ESPN to broadcast the games.

The Rock took to Facebook to note that the league is already planning for the second season:

“Extremely productive (7 hour) board meeting with our XFL ownership and executive team today.

We achieved some nice successes in our first season and more importantly, we learned some valuable lessons as well. This is a gritty, passionate, powerhouse group ???? dialed in to our XFL values and culture.

I couldn’t ask for better partners in this long game venture to grow the game of football.

We have great, strategic and innovative plans for our 2024 season.

Day by day, we build the “league of opportunity” and will always serve our #1 boss – our XFL fans.

Thank you everyone for your amazing support and see you on the field ????????????????
