You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On his decision to move to Ring of Honor: “It was honestly, it was when I was with the Hardy Boys. To me, I’m like, ‘this is a dream come true.’ I get to do the dance, I get to come out to the entrance, I’m legitimately good friends with Isiah Kassidy so I get to work with him and we were teaming, but so irregularly. We had pitched to be the Moan Event, because he was doing the moaning thing and we were kind of doing nothing at the time. The goal was to eventually get to the point where I could be released from my contract with Matt Hardy. We lost in the match at his house, in the big compound fight and he ends up controlling my contract and The Firm needed to disband, which I felt like at that point was a great point to end the storyline, but a week or two later, I had to team up with The Firm again.
“I feel there were too many loose ends that kind of gave a bad taste in people’s mouths. Once they started to see us together for longer, it was almost like it was white noise, and I didn’t want to be white noise on the show. For me, it was fun, I was learning so much. Literally, every week, I was learning from Matt and Jeff. They are legends. I just knew that if I kept going down this path, I would pretty much be stuck in the mud. I don’t want to be stuck in the mud for a long time. Once you get cold, it’s very hard to get hot.”
On the storyline with Matt Hardy: “The craziest thing is. We were put on a majority if the YouTube shows. We were on Dark Elevation, so we were giving it away for free. Myself and Matt Hardy were telling a story on those shows every week and the crowd was going nuts. Every week, we were going to these arenas and they were so invested in this storyline. Once we got to the point of kind of finishing it on Rampage and the compound match, I feel that should have been the exclamation, and we could change gears and get to the next thing, but it felt like we were spinning our tires, playing these characters that I feel reached their maximum.”

Ethan Page, a professional wrestler, recently discussed his feud with Matt Hardy in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and his decision to move to the Ring of Honor brand. In a podcast appearance on the “Bragman Breakdown,” Page shared his thoughts on the storyline with Hardy and why he chose to make the transition.
Page revealed that his decision to move to Ring of Honor was influenced by his time working with the Hardy Boys in AEW. He described it as a dream come true, being able to perform alongside the legendary tag team and participate in their iconic entrance. However, Page felt that their teaming was irregular and they were not given significant storylines. He mentioned pitching the idea of becoming the “Moan Event” with Isiah Kassidy, but it did not materialize.
The turning point came when Page lost a match at Hardy’s house, resulting in Hardy gaining control of his contract. Page believed that this was an opportune moment to end the storyline, but he was later forced to team up with Hardy again. He felt that there were too many loose ends and that it left a bad taste in people’s mouths. Page did not want to become white noise on the show and realized that he needed to make a change to avoid getting stuck in a stagnant position.
Page acknowledged that working with Matt and Jeff Hardy was a valuable learning experience, as they are wrestling legends. However, he recognized that if he continued down that path, he would remain stagnant in his career. He emphasized the importance of staying relevant and not getting “cold” in the wrestling industry.
Regarding the storyline with Matt Hardy, Page expressed his disappointment with how it was handled. He mentioned that they were primarily featured on YouTube shows and Dark Elevation, giving away their matches for free. Despite receiving positive reactions from the crowd and building a strong storyline, Page felt that it reached its maximum potential after their compound match on Rampage. He believed that it was time to move on to the next thing, but instead, they continued to spin their wheels and play characters that had run their course.
In conclusion, Ethan Page’s decision to move to Ring of Honor was influenced by his experience working with the Hardy Boys in AEW. He felt that the storyline with Matt Hardy had too many loose ends and reached its maximum potential. Page recognized the importance of staying relevant in the wrestling industry and decided to make a change to avoid getting stuck in a stagnant position.
