The post-WrestleMania edition of WWE RAW proved to be a success, as it drew in a significant increase in viewership compared to the previous week. According to eWrestlingNews, the show garnered 2,352,000 viewers on the USA Network, up from the 1,784,000 viewers it attracted last week. This surge in viewership indicates the excitement and anticipation surrounding the aftermath of WrestleMania 40.

One of the most notable aspects of the ratings was the increase in the key 18-49 demographic. The rating for this demographic rose from 0.59 to 0.83, showcasing the appeal of WWE RAW to a wide range of viewers. This increase is a positive sign for the WWE, as it demonstrates that they are successfully engaging with their target audience.

Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics provided further insight into the viewership numbers by breaking them down into quarter-hour segments. The third quarter-hour segment, featuring Cody Rhodes and The Rock, emerged as the highlight of the show, attracting over three million viewers. This segment’s success can be attributed to the star power and charisma of both wrestlers, who have a strong fan base.

Analyzing the quarter-hour numbers reveals interesting trends throughout the show. The ratings peaked at 1.09 during the 8:30 segment, which continued to feature Cody Rhodes and The Rock. This indicates that their presence on screen was a major draw for viewers. Additionally, the 9:15 segment, which showcased a Six-Man Tag match with John Cena, garnered a rating of 0.81, indicating continued interest from the audience.

It is worth noting that WWE RAW faced tough competition during its airing. The show coincided with the NCAA men’s basketball championship game between UCONN and Purdue, which averaged a staggering 14,820,000 viewers. Despite this competition, WWE RAW managed to hold its own and attract a substantial audience.

Comparing this year’s post-WrestleMania episode to the previous year’s, it is evident that WWE RAW has made significant progress. Last year’s ‘RAW After WrestleMania’ special on April 4th drew a demo rating of 0.61 and 2,101,000 viewers. This year’s episode surpassed those numbers, indicating growth and increased interest in the WWE product.

Overall, the post-WrestleMania edition of WWE RAW was a success in terms of viewership. The show experienced a significant increase in viewers compared to the previous week, with the key 18-49 demographic also showing growth. The quarter-hour numbers highlighted the popularity of segments featuring Cody Rhodes and The Rock, while tough competition from the NCAA men’s basketball championship game did not deter viewers. With these positive results, WWE RAW continues to solidify its position as one of the premier wrestling shows on television.
