For many months, the entertainment world was abuzz with whispers of a potential biopic centered around WWE legend Hulk Hogan. Unfortunately, an official decision has finally been made, ending the speculation.
Since 2019, plans for an extensive look into Hogan’s professional journey and personal life were in the pipeline, with internationally acclaimed actor Chris Hemsworth signed up to step into the wrestling star’s shoes. Todd Phillips, the critically acclaimed director responsible for “Joker”, was also an integral part of the initiative.
Throughout this period, Hemsworth was openly keen about portraying Hogan on the silver screen, yet it seems circumstances have obstructed this from becoming a reality.
As revealed by Hogan himself last year, the biopic was unfortunately put on halt. He credited the unfortunate hitch to a “business glitch” with Netflix, the streaming behemoth initially committed to bringing the film to audiences worldwide.
In spite of this setback, Hemsworth seemed to persistently remain hopeful about his involvement in the film. Speaking to Variety earlier this year, Phillips stated, “I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me.”
In related news, Hogan has ventured into the political arena and has been seen at various political functions as he gears up for the 2024 US Presidential Election.
