Matt Riddle was released from WWE this past week following a 5-year stint with the billion-dollar promotion.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that there is interest in Riddle from the MMA business, with possibly more than one MMA company wanting to sign him.

Prior to signing with WWE, Riddle was an 8-3 MMA fighter and spent five years in the UFC.

Meltzer said, “I do also know that Riddle has got at least one major MMA promotion, if not more, that are interested in bringing him back to MMA. So it’s going to be an interesting one. It’s going to be interesting to see what he does.”

UFC is not likely to be one of those MMA companies, due to issues Riddle and UFC President Dana White seem to have with each other.

Moreover, now that WWE and the UFC have merged into TKO, it’s all the more unlikely for UFC to sign him following his WWE release.

In addition, White himself said just last December that Riddle was a “moron.” He stated,

“Matt Riddle did an interview before that [last] fight where he said ‘I smoke weed so that I don’t beat my children’ then he tests positive for it. He’s a f**king moron. That’s why he’s not here. […] He’s cut because he’s a moron.”

Matt Riddle, a former WWE superstar, has recently been released from the company after a 5-year tenure. However, it seems that Riddle’s career in combat sports may not be over just yet. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, there is interest in Riddle from the MMA business, with potentially more than one MMA company wanting to sign him.

Before signing with WWE, Riddle had a successful career in mixed martial arts (MMA), with an 8-3 record and five years spent in the UFC. It is no surprise that there is interest in him from the MMA world, considering his background and skills in the sport.

Meltzer stated, “I do also know that Riddle has got at least one major MMA promotion, if not more, that are interested in bringing him back to MMA. So it’s going to be an interesting one. It’s going to be interesting to see what he does.”

However, it is unlikely that the UFC will be one of those MMA companies interested in signing Riddle. There have been reported issues between Riddle and UFC President Dana White, which may hinder any potential collaboration between them. Furthermore, with the recent merger of WWE and the UFC into TKO, it becomes even more unlikely for Riddle to join the UFC following his release from WWE.

In fact, White himself has publicly criticized Riddle in the past. In December of last year, White called Riddle a “moron” after he tested positive for marijuana use. White stated, “Matt Riddle did an interview before that [last] fight where he said ‘I smoke weed so that I don’t beat my children’ then he tests positive for it. He’s a f**king moron. That’s why he’s not here. He’s cut because he’s a moron.”

Despite these challenges, it will be intriguing to see where Riddle’s career takes him next. With interest from multiple MMA companies, he has options to explore and potentially continue his success in combat sports.

With interest from multiple MMA companies, Riddle has the chance to continue his career in combat sports. While the UFC may not be one of those companies due to past issues, it will be interesting to see where Riddle ends up and how he performs in his future endeavors.
