In response to claims made by Janel Grant as part of her lawsuit against Vince McMahon, the physician named in the legal proceedings, Dr. Carlon Colker, has vociferously denied any wrongdoing. It is recalled that Grant, last month, had initiated a discovery request for records concerning Dr. Colker and his Peak Wellness, Inc. wellness center. She believes that following McMahon’s instructions, she was taken to the clinic based in Greenwich, Connecticut in November 2019, where she was made to undergo unspecified treatments involving medication and IV infusions.
Industry insiders, Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics and John Pollock from POST Wrestling, have shared that Dr. Colker has issued a fifteen-page legal document defending himself against the discovery bill while also expressing concern about potential damage to his professional standing because of these allegations.
According to Dr. Colker, what appears to be transpiring is a strategy to not only give credence to Grant’s well-known allegations against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, but to tarnish his own reputation. Dr. Colker asserts that he always sought Grant’s consent prior to prescribing her any specific medications. He further states in his writ that, contrary to Grant’s baseless accusations regarding the non-provision of a Privacy Policy and an itemized bill, irrefutable documented proof exists that Grant signed and acknowledged receipt of a privacy policy. This document, along with every piece of her medical records and metadata, is reportedly in Grant’s possession.
In reaction to Dr. Colker’s assertions, Ann Callis, Grant’s legal representative from Holland Law, provided a statement. In essence, it supports the court’s decision to side with Grant in confirming her legal right to acquire her own medical data and records from Dr. Colker of Peak Wellness. It also made an allusion to the unusual nature yet consistent pattern of Dr. Colker’s defamatory action against a former patient.
