The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has officially confirmed the signing of Kenzie Paige, the current NWA Women’s World Champion, to an exclusive contract with the company. This move comes in line with a series of signings the NWA has been making recently, many of them being wrestlers such as Eric Smalls, Natalia Markova, Colby Corino, The Immortals, among others.
The official statement from NWA was as follows:
“The reigning Women’s World Champion of the National Wrestling Alliance, Kenzie Paige will be here for the long haul! We have sealed a long-term, exclusive contract with this superstar,” said the NWA.
NWA’s COO Joe Galli further goes on to say, “Our women’s division which is truly exceptional separates the National Wrestling Alliance from the competition in the realm of professional wrestling. As the one holding the NWA Women’s World title, Kenzie Paige outshines them all and we are delighted to announce her continued participation in NWA Powerrr, our Signature Live Events, and the company as a whole for the foreseeable future.”
Associated with all-female ensemble, Pretty Empowered, Paige has held the NWA Women’s World Champion title since August 2023. She managed to overthrow Kamille’s reign during the second night of NWA 75, utilizing the guaranteed title shot won in the previous night’s Burke Invitational Gauntlet.
Joining the National Wrestling Alliance at a young age of 19, Paige transformed into one of the category-defining competitors of the Lightning One Era. Having won every title possible for women in the company, she became the first and only “NWA Women’s Grand Slam Champion.”
Her tenure also finds her twice winning the NWA Women’s World tag team titles, being the premier titleholder of the NWA Women’s TV title, winning the 2023 Burke Invitational and currently, she is the Women’s World champion. She also made NWA history when her Krossfire Wrestling based in Tennessee, became the first female-managed organization officially acknowledged by NWA.
“Kenzie is setting a unique path in NWA that hasn’t been seen by any woman before her,” remarked Galli on the signing. “She certainly is the go-to person to lead our company into the future as we constantly strive to showcase the best and most talented women in our industry today.”
Kenzie Paige joins the list of several exclusive NWA contract holders that were announced earlier. Numerous champions and top-performing artists previously announced are kept under wraps as the company gears up for its annual celebration, NWA 76, marking its genesis in 1948.
Promised to be a continuous pillar under NWA Powerrr, the company’s flagship Tuesday program, Paige is almost certain to defend the Women’s World title on August 31 at NWA’s anniversary extraordinary event in Philadelphia’s famed 2300 Arena.
NWA 76 is set to be graced by personalities such as 2024 Crockett Cup winners The Southern Six (consisting of Kerry Morton, Alex Taylor and “The Thrillbilly” Silas Mason with their mentor and pro wrestling Hall of Famer Ricky Morton), “HollyHood” Haley J (star of Netflix series The Wrestlers) and newcomer Kayla Rossi.
“Tickets are currently on sale for NWA 76” concluded the official statement.
