National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has confirmed the signing of Thom Latimer to an exclusive long-term contract. The announcement was made through a press release stating that Latimer, who happens to be the current NWA National champion, will be with the prominent wrestling promotion for years to come.
Latimer is considered the number one contender for the NWA World’s title. The championship is expected to be contested for at the upcoming NWA 76 event in Philadelphia on 31 August. The event is touted to present almost all championships on the line.
Commenting on this development, Joe Galli, COO of NWA, said that Latimer is a valuable member of the NWA, with multiple championship wins to his name. The COO further added that Thom signing a long-term exclusive agreement means he will continue to be a key part of NWA Powerrr and NWA broadcast programming for years.
While EC3 holds the NWA World’s Heavyweight title and will defend it at NWA 76, it is speculated that Latimer might be a potential contender considering their past interactions. EC3 himself believes it will most likely be Latimer to challenge him for the title.
Other matches announced for NWA 76 include Jack Cartwheel vs. Alex Misery, The King Bees vs. Ella Envy and Miss Starr, a fatal four-way for the U.S. tag titles, the Burke Invitational Gauntlet and a face-off between Crockett Cup champions, The Southern Six and Knox & Murdoch.
NWA will be celebrating the NWA 76 event at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena, on August 31st, which will commemorate the founding of the National Wrestling Alliance in 1948. Tickets are available for purchase.
