The New Day Premiere As Playable Characters In Gears 5

Gears 5 The New Day

Xbox third-person shooter Gears 5 is adding Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E of The New Day to their roster of playable characters today. Available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via the Perks section, all three members of WWE’s most positive faction come with colorful custom cosmetics, a rainbow weapon skin, and other signature New Day flair.

Xavier Woods commented on the inclusion earlier this week, saying that he’s been a fan of the series for a long while, even reading the lore-heavy books on occasion. He also advertised a new set of merch for the crossover that’s only available for two weeks on WWE Shop and his own UpUpDownDown shop.

After playing @GearsOfWar for years (& reading the books 😳) I’m happy to announce that myself @TrueKofi & @WWEBigE somehow convinced them make us playable dlc characters in #Gears5 @Xbox

If you thought getting popped by gnashers got on your nerves, wait until its us doing it 🤣 pic.twitter.com/nweuRLSzi7

Y’all are well aware that we can’t be in @GearsofWar without dropping some merch 🤣

But it’s only available for a limited time!

Upon the release of the off-kilter DLC pack today, even AEW star Orange Cassidy was thrown off his game at the confusing crossover:

The New Day joins a bevy of crossover characters in Gears 5, including fellow WWE wrestler Batista, several Spartans from Xbox franchise Halo, and The Terminator from failed franchise follow-up Terminator: Dark Fate. Gears 5 is available on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X and free for Xbox Game Pass Subscribers.
