During the All Out 2024 pay-per-view event on Saturday night, AEW fans seemed to be thrilled with the intense finale. However, Jonathan Coachman did not share in their enthusiasm, especially when it came to the infamous needle spot.
At the climax of the Steel Cage match, ‘Hangman’ Page intensified the action, resorting to a hypodermic needle to intensify the punishment on his opponent, Swerve Strickland.
Renowned pro-wrestling pundit, Coachman, took to Twitter to express his disillusionment with the particular incident. He regarded it as one of the most appalling things he had encountered during his illustrious career in professional wrestling. His tweet read:
“That needle episode was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in this sport. Anyone who defends it is blindly loyal. This makes it clear that all I get from the fans on social media is that I am a WWE mark, all I do is flatter Triple H. However, if you’ve ever tuned into @BehindTheBuckle, you will realize we are far from being WWE mouthpieces. Our discussions revolve around professional wrestling. Today it’s about AEW’s desperate attempts at grabbing headlines. And unfortunately, these aren’t the right ones. This is the pinnacle of a series of terrible decisions. Better focus on the NFL today for some positivity.”
Speculations suggest that after this controversial event, Strickland, the ex-AEW World Champion who had recently affirmed his commitment to AEW earlier, will be temporarily stepping away from the ring.
