Earlier this month, as brought to our attention via eWn, the future of Dustin Rhodes, both ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion and World Tag Team Champion, was uncertain due to the imminent expiration of his AEW contract.
Fightful Select has unveiled this week that there’s no change in the status of Rhodes’ contract with AEW. Indeed, Rhodes has been an integral part of AEW since its inception two years ago, in 2019.
Rhodes himself had chosen to go public with this information earlier this year through his Twitter account, revealing that his contract with AEW would come to an end in the month of September. He posted the following thoughts about it:
“Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world.”
