The WWE stable known as The Hurt Business, which encompassed Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, enjoyed a notable stint during WWE’s Thunderdome Era.
In 2021, much to the chagrin of many devotees, the group disbanded. Nonetheless, whispers of a potential reformation within AEW are currently making rounds in the industry.
As previously reported on eWn, Lashley and MVP have ended their contracts with WWE, opening up new opportunities for them in the industry.
Industry expert Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter conjectures that Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin could revive their Hurt Business’ presence under a fresh label – “The Hurt Syndicate” within AEW.
The decision to appear under this new guise is theirs to make, and the ultimate green signal must come from AEW’s President, Tony Khan.
Meltzer’s report states, “A lot of people think Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin, reviving their Hurt Business persona as The Hurt Syndicate, will end up in AEW. They are all free to appear, and it comes out down to Tony Khan.”
The future of The Hurt Business in AEW, if they choose to debut there, remains shrouded in speculation. Only time will uncover what will transpire.
