While many fans hoped to see ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin appear at WWE WrestleMania 40, The Miz is pleased that The Undertaker was on Night Two instead.

During the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match, The Undertaker chokeslammed The Rock who had interfered on behalf of The Bloodline.

Many believe that the Phenom’s spot was initially scheduled for Austin as there had been reports of a role for the Rattlesnake and given Austin’s intense feud with the Final Boss.

On a recent edition of “The Pat McAfee Show” podcast, The Miz spoke about the spot in question and why he preferred to see the Deadman. He said,

“Dare I say that that was the best main event I’ve her seen in WWE WrestleMania history? You got to see everything.

“A lot of people were like, ‘I want Stone Cold Steve Austin.’ I love that it was The Undertaker. Because the Undertaker is the locker room leader, he’s the person that has always…if he puts his stamp on you, that means more than everything as a WWE superstar.

“The fact that Undertaker was out there to help Cody Rhodes says, ‘Hey, we have a new face. We have a new era, and this is Cody Rhodes’ era.’”

Rhodes dethroned Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, finishing the story and ending Reigns’ 1,316-day reign on top.
