The esteemed wrestling professional, The Miz, has expressed his doubts about participating in the forthcoming 2024 SummerSlam pay-per-view event, set to take place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
He recently voiced his concerns in an interview with prominent TV gossip outlet, ‘TV Insider’. He discussed the event, slated for August 3, and speculated about his potential involvement in the hometown competition. Speaking candidly, he remarked:
“There are extended matches with intricate narratives that are primed and set for a major PLE. Take a look at SummerSlam currently, it’s slated to be at the Cleveland Browns stadium. My role is uncertain even though it’s happening in my hometown. It’s a rare and unique opportunity which might never come up again. I doubt we will revisit the same stadium due to possible plans for a new one soon. This is the iconic venue where I spent my youth witnessing the Cleveland Browns matches, and now I’m unsure if I will be a part of it. The stories surrounding the matches are incredibly engaging… Securing a spot on a major PLE is no easy task these days. One needs to be at their A-game. I am well aware of this fact because I have been around in this industry for two decades.”
In the most recent episode of RAW, The Miz, along with R-Truth, were dethroned from the WWE World Tag Team Championships by The Judgment Day- a team composed of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
SummerSlam 2024 is all set to be hosted at the Cleveland Browns Stadium. This is a noteworthy event marking the city’s first WWE pay-per-view since WWE Fastlane occurred back in March 2019.
