CM Punk, who was fired from AEW this past Saturday, had a negative interaction with William Regal last year, with the Second City Saint getting in the Lordship’s face.
The incident reportedly took place on the night of Regal’s AEW debut, with Punk telling the British veteran that he didn’t trust him because he was a “stooge” for Triple H.
Bryan Alvarez reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Regal informed his friends months after the incident took place and didn’t make it sound like a “very big deal.”
Additionally, it was added that Regal’s departure from AEW had nothing to do with the incident.
In fact, Regal was going to return to WWE one way or the other after Triple H ascended the throne following Vince McMahon’s retirement last year.
