Professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF, recently joined the cast of the sequel of the much-loved comedy, “Happy Gilmore 2”, starring alongside Hollywood comedic icon, Adam Sandler.
Insider reports from Fightful Select have provided some new insights regarding Friedman’s role in the film and his impending return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
According to these reports, MJF’s character in the comedy sequel is indeed pivotal and significant. He is reported to have been actively involved in the movie filming until the past month, with the production of the film finally concluding in the final week of September.
It’s indicated that MJF, previously the titleholder of AEW World Champion, is preparing to go back to regular television broadcasting, though no exact dates have been mentioned yet.
The same report also dropped news of Friedman signing up for another cinematic project, touted to feature Justin Long and Ron Perlman in its cast. Only scant details about this latest project have been revealed so far.
MJF’s last professional wrestling match was in AEW All Out 2024, where he emerged victorious over Daniel Garcia in a one-on-one match.
