AEW Collision’s recent announcement sparked speculation about a potential new TV deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. According to rumors, the deal was anticipated to amount to $240 million annually over a five-year period, totaling approximately $1.2 billion. However, no official confirmation of such an agreement has been made, as negotiations for a rights renewal have not yet commenced. Tony Khan previously mentioned a “new contract” of similar duration, implying its expiration coincides with the original deal’s end date.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, discussions for a fresh rights deal are likely to commence in the early months of next year. It is expected that Warner Bros. Discovery will exercise the option year for AEW, set to conclude in September 2024. While this extension will entail a price increase, it is significantly lower than the previously rumored amount disclosed last month.
