Mixed reports have been swirling about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s involvement in WWE WrestleMania 41 over the last week. Speculations stirred after WrestleMania 40, where a showdown with the reigning WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, was anticipated for the following year.
During WWE Bad Blood 2024, Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” emerged on stage after Jimmy Uso’s return helped Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Johnson entered, counted 1-3, stared down with Cody, Roman, and Jimmy, then exited the stage.
Early sources, including WrestleVotes, predicted a triple threat match with The Rock, Reigns, and Rhodes for WrestleMania 41. However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter soon reported otherwise, revealing that Johnson would not be in the April WrestleMania 41 line-up and would not compete.
Contrarily, on a recent episode of WrestleVotes Radio, WWE’s plans of having The Rock feature in WrestleMania 41 were affirmed. During the show, Joey Votes stated, “WWE has long expected The Rock to be available for this year’s WrestleMania…we are told that The Rock was also clued in on the decision to run Las Vegas…we can pretty confidently say that The Rock is slated to be a part of WrestleMania.”
Concurrently, WrestleVotes added, “I had not heard anybody anywhere speculating that The Rock would not be involved in WrestleMania this year… The Rock is the king of surprise appearances… So I definitely expect to see The Rock up here again as we start to get this Bloodline angle back up and running with Roman Reigns.”
WWE WrestleMania 41 is set to be a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025, taking place at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
